Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a beautiful art. For those who may have missed The Ultimate Fighter 14 finale, Diego Brandao displayed a perfect example of how powerful BJJ can be. Following an exciting back and forth round between Brandao and Dennis Bermudez, Brandao found himself in deep water after running directly into a heavy right hand. Even amongst the heavy barrage of Bermudez’ ground and pound, Brandao’s Jiu Jitsu experience prevailed. As Bermudez left one arm extended a moment too long, a quick foot on the hip to create some angle, and Brandao slapped on a lightning fast armbar that Bermudez was forced to respect as he tapped at 4:51 of the first round. A lovely example of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’s strength in the face of adversity.
